Very cool. This is a very unusual Swiss timepiece that was made to
attach to the center of a rotary telephone dial. This was a very convenient
timepiece that not only gave you the current time, it also let you keep
track of the length of your phone calls. This was important in those
days as long distance calls were very expensive and you were charged
by three-minute blocks of time. We take long distance calls for granted
today but they were quite costly in those days and you tried to keep
them under three minutes. If you went over, you may as well keep talking
because you were already going to be charged for the next three minutes.
This neat Swiss watch has the date at 3:00 and a programmable timer
at 9:00 and IT WINDS AUTOMATICALLY AS YOU DIAL THE PHONE! Never sold
and absolutely new old stock complete with original box and instruction
papers. We have never seen one of these before. Very cool, very collectable.
