Illinois Unusually Cased "Major" Styled 10k rgp w/Stainless back, Excellent Original Condition c.1929

This is a very unusual Illinois with a superb Major dial and high grade 17j movement. Factory original Illinois Major two-toned dial is superb with minor blemish between 1:00-2:00 but otherwise crisp and clean. Cased in a very unusual 10k rolled gold plate case with a stainless steel snap back. The movement comes out with the back in an unusual 'bathtub' arrangement where the movement is then removed from the integral back leaving the crown and stem in the back assembly. It looks like an early attempt at water resistance. Powered by a crisp and clean high grade Illinois 17 jewel damaskeened movement with micro regulator and dating to 1929 that is freshly serviced and keeping very good time. 31mm x 36mm with no brassing, scratches or damage and in overall excellent condition. Fitted with a new 17mm black lizard pattern strap.
