American Waltham
Large 18s Sterling Silver Engraved Hunter Cased Key Wind, Key set Pocket
Watch with Sterling Chain, Extra-Fine, c.1882 |
|
New Listing!
 |
What a beauty this old gentleman is and in remarkable
all original condition. Full sized 18s 55mm diameter solid sterling
silver hunter case with 4 hinges for cover, bezel, back and cuvette. All
hinges are in great condition with no damage or repairs. Beautiful
Victorian engraving with engine turned and floral pattern with cartouche
and a coin edge. Inside the back is still the original watch paper from
Waltham with a picture of the factory and certifying it's silver
content. Beautiful original white porcelain dial with no chips or
hairlines and original blued steel hands with no corrosion. Original
round bow is still tight and stem cover release works properly. Case
pops open and closed properly. Key wind from back and key set on hands.
Key setting is a little tricky but not a problem if you are careful, it
may need a better key though because it seems to fit correctly to wind
the watch but it seems perhaps a size too big for hands set. Powered by
the original Waltham Broadway movement that is crisp and clean, running
strong and keeping very good time. Comes with a solid sterling
silver graduated Albert chain with dog clip and t-bar and a very worn
1890 Seated Liberty U.S. dime fob. Just a great old watch from the Old
Wild West era. |

Movado
Ermeto Moon Phase Triple Calendar Manual Wind, Near Mint, c.1950 |
|

 |
Ermeto's are just so hard to find in decent original
condition where the leather covers have not shrunken away from the case
edge or been torn or damaged. This example is in just excellent original
condition. Beautiful brown crocodile leather cover is snug fitting and
in wonderful near mint condition. The pattern on the leather has been
carefully matched up on both the front and back of the case. Factory
original white and silvered two tone dial with gold applied numerals and
minute register surrounding the 31 day date register with windows for
day and month and moon phases. Dial is crisp and clean and pristine.
Gold filled case with easel stand and chain loop. Case is excellent with
no damage, scratches or personalization, it closes snugly and is clean
and straight. We did not get a photo of the pristine original Movado
Swiss movement that is bright and clean and keeping very good time with
all pushers and complications working properly. Factory original crown.
This is a manual wind Ermeto that does not wind the watch when opening
and closing. These were available as an option later in the Ermeto line
to provide a more reliable purse or pocket watch with fewer parts to go
wrong, the automatic winders almost always needed to be hand wound
anyway. Fitted with what we believe to be the factory original braided
leather watch chain in excellent condition. |

Movado Ermeto
Pocket-Purse Watch with Automatic Wind and Two-Tone Round Dial, All-Original Extra Fine+
Condition, c.1940 |

 |
Here we have a superb Movado Ermeto pocket or purse
watch with the self winding mechanism that winds the watch each time the
case is pulled apart to read the time and with the very scarce two-tone
round dial produced during the 1940's war years. Black genuine baby
alligator cover is in excellent condition with no tears, stains or
damage. Mint stainless steel case with easel stand for bedside or desk.
Sweep seconds hand and original luminous filled hands that exactly
matches the luminous material on the Arabic numerals. The luminous
material has long since lost it's glow and there is a small amount of
loss in the minute hand. Sweep seconds are rare on Ermeto's. The dial on
this watch changes color as it catches the light and is just stunning.
Two tone bull's-eye dial with silvered square frame is factory original
finish and looks as clean and beautiful as when new. Original Eidelweiss
crown. Powered by the original Movado 15 jewel Swiss movement that is
serviced and keeping very good time. |

Large Cigarette Lighter-Watch with Art Deco Tortoise-Shell Enamel Case
from Post-War Japan, All Working Extra-Fine Cond. c.1947 |
|
New Listing!
 |
Here's a very cool collectable watch that snaps into
a large sized cigarette lighter with art deco engraving and
tortoise-shell enamel front and back. Lighter measures 43mm x 55mm and
the the removable mechanical wind watch measures about 28mm in diameter.
The lighter works as does the watch and everything is in near mint
condition and the only cosmetic issues are a couple of very small chips
to the enamel on the back. I doubt if the lighter has ever been filled
or used as the wick is unburned. The watch winds without removal from
the lighter and is running fine and keeps reasonable time. Made in Japan
just after the end of WW2. A very cool and handsome addition to any nice
lighter or watch collection. |

Early Key
wind and set Pocket Watch in Extra Fine Condition, c.1875 |
|

|
Superb condition large
18s 56mm key wind and set pocket watch with mint white porcelain dial.
Solid nickel case with hinged bezel, back and Cuvette. The case and
movement show no signatures or other identifying makers marks but we
believe this is an American made watch, though it could be Swiss or
English. The high quality jeweled full plate movement is crisp and clean
and bears only the one million plus serial number and the patent date of
May 11th, 1875. It is running well and keeps good time. The white
porcelain dial is without chip or hairline with black Roman numerals and
single sunk sub seconds at 6:00. Bow is snug and secure and all covers
snap shut smartly. Hinges are great. Key wind and key set by hands. A
beautiful old watch from the era of the Old West, this would be perfect
for the wild west shooter or re-enactor. |

Tel-O-Timer Rotary Telephone Timer/Watch NOS c.1955 |

 |
Very cool. This is a very unusual Swiss timepiece
that was made to attach to the center of a rotary telephone dial. This
was a very convenient timepiece that not only gave you the current time,
it also let you keep track of the length of your phone calls. This was
important in those days as long distance calls were very expensive and
you were charged by three-minute blocks of time. We take long distance
calls for granted today but they were quite costly in those days and you
tried to keep them under three minutes. If you went over, you may as
well keep talking because you were already going to be charged for the
next three minutes. This neat Swiss watch has the date at 3:00 and
a programable timer at 9:00 and IT WINDS AUTOMATICALLY AS YOU DIAL THE
PHONE! Never sold and absolutely new old stock complete with original
box and instruction papers. We have never seen one of these before. Very
cool, very collectable. |
